Attendees to IRRI Reunion 2024:
All, it looks like we will be having a good turnout for our IRRI Reunion this July in Portland, Oregon. So, we should have a great and memorable weekend. We are in the process of putting together the weekend, but first, some business:
HOTEL
Crissan has been able to get an attractive (and very competitive) rate ($165/night) in one of the nice hotels in downtown Portland. The Benson is a classic hotel and well located to appreciate the attractions of the city. They also offered attractive packages for the reception that will be held on Friday night and a meeting for the Annual Meeting on Saturday morning.

If you have any questions about the hotel, special needs, etc. you may either call or email the Benson reservationist Danny Feist, and his information is as follows: Tel: +1 503 228 2000 ext. 173; email [email protected].

The rate is officially for July 26 – 28 BUT the hotel has agreed to honor that same rate for an additional up to 3 days before and 3 days after the reserved period.
PLEASE MAKE YOUR RESERVATIONS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. THIS WILL ALLOW US TO REQUEST MORE ROOMS IF WE EXCEED OUR ORIGINAL REQUEST.
EVENTS
There will be a reception at the Benson Hotel Friday evening with heavy hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. On Saturday morning we will have the GRRF Board and Annual Meeting at the Benson Hotel. For those not attending the GRRF meetings there is an abundance of things to see and do in Portland on a summer Saturday. Saturday evening we will have a garden party at our home. We have not set anything for Sunday and are happy to entertain suggestions. Often people like to set up their own activities for Sunday so we do not want to be too prescriptive.
We will post on the GRRF Website additional information about activities available in the city and surrounding areas.
COSTS
We are seeking external support for the reunion to keep registration costs down. I will be able to be more specific by late May, I hope! I welcome any suggestions as to where I might have a good shot at raising some additional funds.
We are really looking forward to seeing so many friends this summer!
